Why do we take dental X-rays?
Dental radiographs are an essential diagnostic tool which allows dentist to detect dental problems before they turn into serious concerns. Although physical examination lets you find noticeable signs of issues but not oral diseases are visible to the naked eye. Therefore, dental X-rays are very important part of dental care.
The X-rays will detect any early stages of cavities, gum disease, injuries to tooth roots and other oral problems that aren’t visible to the eye. By detecting early, you can get the treatment you need before those problems have a chance to develop. You can also check for bone loss caused by gum disease. They are also used to plan and co-ordinate treatment for root canals, dental implants, extraction and orthodontics.
