Patients Near Ealing Watch The Great River Race With A Winning Smile

Having a great smile isn’t a competition, but it’s something that most of us strive for. In the world of cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges are here to help everybody achieve a first-place smile. These simple yet effective treatments are the perfect solution to the loss – or decay – of teeth, which can be caused by aspects such as disease or poor oral hygiene.

Crowns are small ‘caps’ specifically designed for the patient’s tooth and are designed to blend in perfectly with the natural teeth. In a crowd of smiles, it’s very hard to spot somebody wearing crowns! Often made of porcelain (or go for gold for extra protection against chipping!) crowns can be used to cover any of the following problems:

  • Rotted teeth
  • Fillings, implants, or other dental procedures
  • Damaged teeth (i.e. discoloured or worn)

If there are gaps in a patient’s smile, and crowns cannot be used to attach onto damaged teeth, bridges are there to – literally – fill the gap. Bridges can be made of the same materials as crowns and can be attached to dental implants or two teeth adjacent to the gap. There are a variety of bridges available:

  • Traditional bridges are a permanent solution to gaps in the teeth offering up to three units per bridge. The adjacent teeth are fully prepared to receive the implants and the effect is very aesthetically pleasing.
  • Maryland bridges are attached to the adjacent teeth using two metal ‘wings’ hidden from view to make your smile appear flawlessly angelic.
  • Cantilever bridges are very effective when bridging a small gap left by just one missing tooth. They can easily be attached to one adjacent tooth and offer firm stability at the front of your mouth.

If you would like to treat your missing teeth then contact the team at Sparkle Dental Boutique near Ealing.
